I am now a senior at Lindsay High School, and the last three years of my high school career have influenced me very much to get to where i am today. The last three years have helped me grow as a person, and a student. I’ve learned new techniques on how to turn in quality work in all my classes here at Lindsay High. I’ve also learned how to communicate very well with others that i was usually always too shy to communicate with in the past. Being here also influenced me to not only better myself in as many ways possible, but to also influence my peers to do the same.
I am only 1 week into my senior year and it’s going very well, it gets me very excited for my future. As we stand as of now, I am on pace in all of my classes because of staying on top of all my work. Currently I am working on my senior project, and what I am doing right now is I am writing this to apply it to my weebly webpage. To me the most interesting and or exciting thing about this whole senior project is that i get to rethink about all the great memories and days I’ve had here at the school and also get to think and plan for the future. Another thing that excites me about this project is that i get to be creative and design this whole project that truly represents myself and the life I’ve lived here at Lindsay High. As senior year is upon me, I am very very excited for what this last year here has in store for my colleagues and I. I can honestly say that some of the things I’m most looking forward to during my senior year is all the athletic events I’ll attend, all the school rallies, all the lunch activities, the hard work on the basketball court, but the biggest thing I’m looking forward to this year, is all the great unforgettable memories I’ll be making with my closest friends. Those are only some of the many things that I personally am looking forward to throughout this last school year. I will make it a priority of mine this year to cherish every single moment I have and live in the moment with the people I love and care for the most.
Some of my main goals for this year are to make sure I stay on pace with every single class I’m taking. A couple of other goals I have for myself is to 1) get a part time job, 2) get far into the playoffs or possibly valley with my basketball brothers and 3) participate in as many clubs as possible to make it a memorable year. Even though those are all great goals I have set for myself, my ultimate goal is to be able to make my parents proud and walk on graduation day with my class. That will be the greatest feeling in the world!

Journal 2
Not very much has changed since my last journal entry back in September. So far so good with all of my classes heading towards the end of this semester, with grades just upgraded I am currently passing 7 out of 7 classes. That is a huge accomplishment for me personally because that brings my GPA up and I am now eligible to play basketball this year. By the end of this semester, I need to make sure that I still am continuing to be on pace with all of my classes so that it doesn’t put me behind. The only difficulty I am having with my senior project(weebly webpage) is that I have a hard time putting a twist of me into the project, because I feel like the project has to be simple, plain, and follow the templates. I want to be able to completely customise my own web page that way we all have our own twist to it that represents ourselves, but who knows maybe one day they will make it like that for students in the future. Some of the things that I am enjoying about my senior year is that I participated in the homecoming week, so I dressed up for all the dress up days and that was plenty of fun. Also now that basketball season is starting to begin, I am super excited looking ahead at our upcoming season, that is hopefully a memorable one for the good not the bad because we have all the players from last year returning on varsity and that is something every time hopes they could say could happen to them. So our team is blessed to have all of us coming back. Another thing that I am enjoying about senior year is all the laughs and good times I am having with my friends. Little things like that mean the most right now because it is all the good memories that we will remember when we are older and looking back at high school memories. Preparing myself for post graduation life has been somewhat nerve wrecking but I have already applied to some colleges and looked for a type of housing where those colleges are located. I am now beginning to sign up for as many scholarships as possible to help me pay for my education. It is very hard to apply for these things because for one it is very time consuming and it asks many very personal questions that quite frankly I do not know the answers to some. At this school I am only feeling the support in helping me get prepared for post graduation from Mr. Gutierrez. He has helped me every step of the way in applying to colleges and also to applying for scholarships and financial aid. He is to me the absolute best teacher here because he takes the time out of his day to help many many students and he is always very friendly and always has a smile on his face no matter the time of day.
Journal #4
Now that my high school graduation is only months away, it is now starting to hit me that we are finally graduating. To be completely honest, I am not really nervous about graduation and maybe that is just because the day is not here yet. The reason being is because I have been waiting for graduation day is the first day our school. It is something everyone always dreams of and as of right now, I am ready for that day. Who knows though, when that day comes I might feel extremely nervous. I am nervous though about all my good friends and I going our separate ways and losing contact with each other.
I have taken most preparations that people should do for post high school graduation. I have so far applied to the colleges of my choice and kept up with my information I need to provide those colleges. I also have taken my placement test in Fresno, so those scores will be sent out to all of the colleges I applied to. Other preparations I have taken to prepare myself for my post high school graduation life is that I have looked into the cost of living around each individual college that I applied to and compared them to each other. The cost of living will have a huge influence on the decision that I make for myself and for my future. Even Though I have only applied to universities away from home that can be pretty costly, I have also considered to stay home and attended a community college to save some money.
Things that I still need to do before graduation is that I need to send my official transcripts to all the colleges, and I also need to go visit the campuses on my own free time. That will not only give me an idea of what I throwing myself into, but also allow me to become comfortable will the college campuses.
The things that I am most looking forward to after leaving high school and beginning college is the responsibilities that come with it. For example, if I move away, I will have my own place to live that I will need to keep maintained. Also I will have my own bills and school work that I will need to make sure I am on top of and never late on. The biggest thing of all that I am looking forward to is the challenge. To be able to see if I can do it all on my own, away from my friends, family, and hometown. That will show me the kind of man I am and will continue to be.
Looking back at my senior year, I am very grateful for many things. Some of those things include the bond I created with my basketball team this last year, all sorts of new friends I made, and all the memories I have made with my senior class. I have had a very memorable high school experience.
